Humble Beginners

Humble Beginners School is based in the Kangemi neighborhood with 137 pupils.

The school has been consistently growing in pupil numbers. They needed funds to build a few more classrooms to accommodate their ever increasing size, as well as upgrading those classrooms they already had.

Jackfruit assessed their situation and their ability to manage a loan, based on their existing financial structure. It was clear to us that they needed the funding and could meet the terms of the loan, and so we were pleased to offer a secured loan facility.

Humble Beginners School now has two new classrooms and an increased number of students. We have also been able to provide them with clean, accessible drinking water and textbooks, and the children enjoy weekly ChezaCheza dance sessions.

The experience with Jackfruit has been amazing. We needed to expand our school and with Jackfruit we were able to do this quickly. We found Jackfruit to be very accessible and we are grateful for the partnership rewards program.”

Prosperity Junior Centre

Prosperity Junior Centre is another school in Kangemi with 214 pupils.

The school has a large intake of pupils who come from all areas of Kangemi. They identified an opportunity for affordable school transport for their pupils. This would have the double benefit of encouraging more pupils to attend the school and provide another income stream through transport fees.

They approached Jackfruit and we considered their need and capacity to meet the loan terms. Satisfied with both of these, we extended a secured loan to them so they could purchase a school van.

In addition to the new school van that is currently being put to good use, Prosperity Junior Centre has benefited from Jackfruit's safe water program, textbooks, and the ChezaCheza dance program.
